Hi all! Super Bowl Sunday I attended an annual even at Your Maine Stamper in Winthrop, Maine. We had a BLAST!!!!! There were lots of prizes, fun, food and of course goodies GALORE! for our shopping pleasure. Now, Sunday was a beautiful day, BUT! since it is a little chilly (lol) here in Maine.....retail therapy was definitely in order throughout the festivities. I have never used or owned a Memory Box stamp in my life much less their gorgeous paper but I'll tell you what.....as I was browsing around, these stamps, paper and all kinds of ribbon goodies and, and other stuff just kept falling into my basket. Now, any stamper out there knows exactly what I'm talking about here ROFLMBO!!!!! Anywho, I wanted to make a thank you card for the ladies who made all the festivities happen and for making me feel so welcome. I wanted something simple and with a lot of white space. It was a short, quick card that I am very happy with the outcome. Thanks for looking and have a great night! :)

PTI Contest Day 6

The challenge for today was to use buttons in a unique and creative way. What more creative than doing a spring scene! I sponged the sky while adding my clouds. Next, I sponged the hills to make sure spaces between the buttons carried the same color. I laid the buttons out in a random way before attaching them in place. I wanted the tree to have a sense of having bloomed flowers hence the pink buttons...lol. Thanks for looking and have a great night! :)

WOHOOOOO!!!! I got lucky today!!!! I found these two quilts in the same store as the drink carrier. Now, I am VERY particular about the quilts I've been searching for. They have to have a certain feel and just kind of speak to me. These remind me of my great great grandmother's quilts from my teen years (13ish). I absolutely fell in love with these two! It must've been kismet that I walked into this store this morning. The daughter of the owner just happened to get her hands on these yesterday and put them out this morning. Hiya! I did some vintage hunting today and came across this baby. I have never in my life seen one until I was looking at Mish Mash's blog a few days ago. Well, it's all her fault I tell ya! lol I was in one of the few antique stores we have here looking for quilts. I passed this the first time I browsed the store. I went back to it another 3-4 times before it decided to jump into my pile of stuff on the counter BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!! I was so drawn to it. Antique Store Finds!

Well, I went to my first antique shop today. I was so excited to find some tablecloths and these old clothespins!!!! I have been looking everywhere for the clothespins for some time now. I'm still hunting a nice vintage winter tablecloth and the old Pyrex stuff. I am so tired of using the plastic storage containers they make now. We're replacing it way too often for my taste! lol Being in this antique store brought back so many memories of going up north to visit my great, great grandparents growing up. When I was a teen (about 13-14ish) I remember having to sleep in the shed (it was like a very small house, not like the metal things we have now, just so ya know....lol). My great, great grandparents still lived like the old days. I remember the silver kitchen table with the formica top and the chairs, the old type fridges and especially the quilts. I thought they were kind of funky back then but now I'm understanding a lot more about the way they lived back then. I would give almost anything to find one of my old grandmother's quilts from those days! Well...enough of my chattering! lol If you happen to know any information about the tablecloths in the pic, PLEASE!!!! let me know. I have no idea how to begin researching this stuff. Hope everyone's having great Tuesday! Well, I usually don't post anything personal on my blog but, the last few days have been really hard for me. I HAVE to quit smoking, I no longer have a choice in the matter. Now, that being said, I have never smoked in my house or my car. I have fought so hard to keep the second hand smoke from reaching my DS because I do NOT want him having any repercussions from my bad habit. Anyway, I got hit with some very disturbing news last Fri. I have emphysema! Now, my husband smoked (quit a little over a year ago) twice as much as me and longer, my mother smoked, dad....you get the picture. Nonetheless, I'm the one that ended up with this disease. Please!! don't get me wrong, I would NEVER wish emphysema on anyone. It just adds to the joke I have about my being cursed...lol. Anyway, I will learn to live with this and pray that I can watch my son grow up to adulthood and beyond. I see the pulomonologist a week from today to see where I stand. I am really praying, very hard that this is just a short stint into the disease and can slow the progression without a lot of added med's or anything like that. So.....now that I am trying to quit cold turkey (the last few days haven't been going so well), I'm hoping I can make lots of cards to keep my mind focused on something besides smoking (or sleeping all day...lol). I haven't been too fond of this color but I think it's growing on me ;) I believe that I am now down to maybe my last 10-12 sets that have not been opened yet...WHEW! I apologize for the long post but I just needed to get it out there and off my chest. Thanks for looking and have a blessed day! :)

The crossing guard for DS's school is a really awesome lady and very dedicated to her job. She is such a doll and joy to be around (especially for us non morning people...lol). Showering You with Thoughts

Since I've been on a kick of trying new things and a new style, I broke out some fabric today that I've been wanting to try. My first attempt didn't turn out at all. I'm sewing machine challenged I guess...lol. Anyway, I'm a really loving this PTI color, Hawaiian Shores. I also love it mixed with red and white. The red just makes it pop so well. I used 1/8" scor tape to tape the fabric to my cardstock and 1/4" scor tape to adhere it to my card base. Once that was completed, I attached my focal point with foam squares and stamped my sentiment. Thanks for looking and have a great day! :)

I am really enjoying making CAS (clean and simple) cards right now. I've had this layout in my head for a while. It was very simple to make although trying to line up the fan without using a stamp-a-ma-jig was interesting. I still have yet to learn how to use one...lol! Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop!!

WHEW! I wasn't sure I'd make it in time but here it is!!!! This month's challenge for Papertrey Ink's April Blog Hop is....tissue paper!!!

This is something I've never tried before and is out of my comfort zone...lol. That being said, I absolutely LOVED making this!!! It was much easier than I expected. When I sat down at my desk, I wasn't sure what I wanted to make and just winged it. Mother's Day is coming up soon so I thought I would get a jump start on my cards. I took my tissue paper and folded it in half to get multiple cuts, ya know...just in case...lol. After making my die cuts, I put a small amount of adhesive on the back to hold it to my paper for stamping. Stamping the images was a little tricky but not too bad. After getting all of them stamped, I went back and colored my leaves and flower. I attached the rhinestones to the backs of my butterflies for a little extra color. I assembled my card and here's how it turned out. Thanks for looking and enjoy all the wonderful eye candy throughout the rest of the hop! :)

The last couple of months, I have been using every single last penny of my crafting money to purchase their products!!!! They have releases EVERY 15th of EVERY month! A very dear friend of ours has been having some health issues for the last few weeks. This is a first for him and is very scary. The dry embossed mat was embossed with the new Cuttlebug Diamond Plate EF. The edges of the main image are lightly sponged with brocade blue ink. I got my inspiration for this card from sf9erfan....

Flying By Birthday

My DS's birthday is coming up in a couple weeks and he adores helicopters. Maybe mom is finally getting on the ball and getting his card ready AHEAD of time...lol! This is a real shocker!!!!! My DS and I love this Digi Image by Sunshine Stamps. I printed this image on GP cardstock from WalMart and colored it with copics. The first couple of times I tried didn't work so, I let it sit for at least a couple hours instead of rushing as usual and voila! A Little Divaness

This card is a little out of my comfort zone but I wanted to try something different. The image is the Hot To Trot image from Sunshine's Stamps. You can purchase this image here. I am really loving these digital images! This is the first one I've ever tried. This was really simple to make. The hardest part was probably painting the flower ribbon sliders...lol. I painted them with deep coral Making Memories paint. I got my inspiration from here. Thanks Amy for inspiring me with your stunning work!

A Glittery Winter

Here's another card I finished last night but didn't get a chance to UL it. This was very quick and easy to make. I am really liking this top note die and my Martha Stewart glitter!!! The edges of the top note die are lightly sponged with night of navy ink.

A Graveyard Halloween Version 2

I am much happier with this version. I added candle light shimmerz to the moon. The bats still have black stickles on them. The only other thing I changed was the way I did my sponging and added pumpkin pie to the sunset mix. I'm not sure if this'll work on other whites as I only use PTI white but I was able to rub the color in (after stamping off so it wasn't too dark) instead of just dabbing like the first version.

I got this set just in time! LOL! I didn't have any type of Verve masculine sets and this was my fave out of this last release. I did't have anything other than something that says Happy Father's Day so I wanted a few different sentiments. This card was really simple to make but....just remember to put the little foot down when you're sewing! *eye roll* This was the first time I've actually used my Janome and I do have to say....the best 40.00 investment I've ever spent! The good part is...I managed to sew it without sewing my finger...ROFL!!!!!

Gifting the MFT Way

This was the 3rd project for Kim's (MFT owner) class a few weekends ago. I wasn't able to post this until the products were actually released. I don't have anything in it yet since I just bought the ingredients to make handmade bath salts. I absolutely LOVE these jars. I'm just waiting on my order...lol!!! This new mini set Time for the Bubbly Label Set is awesome!!! It was made specifically for the jars and it fits them perfectly!! My order just can't get here fast enough...ROFL!!! I wanna play!!!!!! Anyway, there are many other projects you can use these jars for. If you haven't already looked, check out some of the projects on the MFT design team blogs or on splitcoaststampers. To cut the DP for the lid, I believe it is the largest classic circle nestability that fits. It was already pre cut for us with the marvy circle punch but we figured it out for those that don't have the punch.

Lighthouse Prayers

I absolutely looove lighthouses! Guess you didn't know that already huh?? LOL! Anyway, I was so happy to get time to play the other night I actually cranked out 5 cards. I have to fix one so that'll be another post for another day. I used Glimmer Juniper Berry by the Paper Temptress for the card base on this one. Loooove this color, the sheen...heck! all of it!!!! Yeah, I know...surprise, surprise hehehe Ya know! I really need to win the lottery or something so I can just buy as much of this stuff as I want! I think if I did that, Patricia would be in for a serious shock...ROFL!!! The image was stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black ink on Poison Ivory also by the Paper Temptress and colored with copics. I then matted my image on the Paper Temptress Black Velvet cardstock. As you can see on the right side of the sentiment....make sure you let the card dry before sticking your fingers on it *insert eye roll*. Anyway, here's all the deets....

I really wish I could come up with some snazzy title names....LOL!!!! Anyway, I got some playtime the other night and this is another simple card I came up with. I am really liking these simple cards! They are very quick and easy to make. The base card is Glimmer Mountain Rose from the Paper Temptress. This is more stuff that's DA BOMB!!!! This is the first time I've tried this color and am VERY impressed!!! I love the sheen and it takes embossing like a dream!!!! I stamped the sentiment on Cream Velvet. It has a great texture for stamping. Loooove it!!! I made this card with my Aunt in mind. One of her favorite colors is pink. Being an elegant, prim & proper type person, I thought it would fit her well...lol!

Tea For Mother's Day

My Aunt and Uncle are very into Victorian things. They attend Victorian tea parties in Victorian dress, attend other parties, etc.. She is very prim & proper also so I made this with her in mind. This was the first time I've tried the Paper Temptress Cream Velvet cardstock. I'm not too sure how much the texture shows up in my pic but this stuff AWESOME!!!! Yes, I do realize that I say that about all the Paper Temptress cardstock but, I just can't help it!!!! I would shout it from the mountain tops how much I love working with these papers. They are so FABulous!!! Anyway, enough of my ranting and raving...lol!!! GO SHOP!!!!!

My Sincere Apologies

I am so sorry for not posting to my blog for the last two weeks. Things have been extremely hectic around here. My DS has ADHD and has been having a hard time lately. I am also dealing with another family member (my cousin's wife) getting ready to pass through the Gates of Heaven. I swear...cancer has struck my family and friends waaaay too many times since I was a little girl. The last time that monster struck was almost 2 years ago when it took my father (July). The weirdest part though.....in the neighborhood I live in, cancer has taken 5 lives that have lived on the exact same short street only houses away. 2 have been both my parents, 1 was a dear childhood friend, 1 was the father of a boy I use to babysit when he was like 2 years old and the other was actually a man I'd never met. There may have been a couple more from that street but I can't remember right now. I did manage to make a few cards on Sun but I'll save those to post more this week. We are also in the process of replacing a lot of furniture to bare, sand and stain yourself wood. As I'm typing this, DH is sanding down spots in our bedroom so we can repaint the walls. On that note....I'm going to go see if there's anything I can get accomplished until he's finished. Have a wonderful night! Always remember, chin up!! Flowers For Mother's Day

I absolutely LOVE these colors together!!! I believe this was a sketch somewhere but I have totally forgotten where I saw it...lol! I used the Teal Felt Grandee from the Paper Temptress to mat my paper and image on. I'm telling you....this stuff ROCKS!!!! The texture is absolutely FABulous!!!! It also punched better than some of my other cardstock! It is just the right thickness so it doesn't stick in the punch but sturdy enough to make a card base.

Mini Goodie Backpack

I was doing my usual splitcoast stampers gallery gazing and ran across this little beauty. Well...if ya know me, you KNOW I just gotta make one...LOL!!! I found one that said there was a tut (tutorial) on their blog so off I go. I landed on Becky Roberts blog and the rest....is history! I used the Black Suede cardstock from the Paper Temptress this time with just a little of the ivory for balance and elegance. I'm tellin' ya!!! This suede stuff is as soft as your favorite soft blanket or your most favoritest (is that a word...lol?)broke in flannel jammies!!! You definitely won't be sorry for purchasing this stuff! Ok....since I'm sure that someone's gonna wanna make one of these, here's a little tutorial...lol!. I will post a pic of the backside so you can see what it looks like. Thanks for checking out my blog ! Have a great day!!

For the body itself, start with a piece of cardstock measuring 10 1/4" x 5 1/4". With your cardstock lying lengthwise, score it at 3 1/2". Then, on the short side, score it at 3", 4 3/4", 7 3/4" and 9 1/2". Turn your cardstock back to lengthwise and cut the left bottom (will be the short score on your far left) box out on the score lines. Fold on score lines and set aside. You will have to gently bend the sides of the backpack to close it.
Next, you'll need to make the pieces you'll use for the flap, pocket and pocket flap. The pocket itself is 3" x 2". Score this at 1/4" and 1/2" on the sides and bottom. Cut the little boxes at the bottom on the left and right sides following the score lines so it looks like a T. The pocket flap is 1 1/2" x 2". Score this piece at 1/4" and 1/2" on ONE lengthwise side only. The backpack flap is 2 15/16" x 2 1/2". Score this piece also on ONE lengthwise side only. Fold everything on the score lines and set aside.
For the ribbon slots you'll need to use your 1/8" punch. Punch 2 holes side by side and the section that will be the backside of the backpack (if looking at it lengthwise with the missing corner to your left, this will be the far right section) about 1/2" down from the top. You will also have to punch 2 holes on the bottom of that same piece (NOT the flap part) about 1/2" from both the bottom and sides. I did not tie knots in my ribbon on the inside. I used mini glue dots to hold them in place.
After that, assemble the pieces and Viola! You have your backpack.

Frame of Elegance

Here is something else I have had lying around my craft room. See!!! I AM using this stuff...LOL!!! Anyway, this is a chipboard frame that I picked up in an LSS that has gone out of business. :( I used the Ivory Suede cardstock from the Paper Temptress to cover my frame. OH MY!! This stuff is sooo DREAMY!!!! It feels like a suede jacket....FOR REAL!!! I'm sooo in love...lol!!! Anyway, I intentionally left the picture area bare. When you open the back and insert the pic you won't see it anyway. I just couldn't use up all my luscious ivory suede on just ONE project! After covering the frame, I stamped my sentiment in Versafine black ink then onto the frame. I stamped the leaf branches in Versafine also and randomly stamped onto the frame. I will warn you though...see between the 2 leaf branches on the bottom right side...that little smudge? Make SURE you keep your fingers off the frame when done until dry. I totally did not even think to heat set the ink before I moved it. Luckily, mom's little spit bath worked pretty well...LOL!!!!

Men's Leather Desk Frame

Yep! More leather stuff! I LOOOOVE this cardstock!!!! It is so fun to work with. It's nice and stiff but very easy to work with. I used the Navy Blue Leather from the Paper Temptress. I had a wood frame sitting in my craft room for a while and finally got to use it...lol!! I used Scor Tape to adhere the cardstock to the frame. I tell ya what! This tape will hold just about anything. Hmmm...I wonder if it would hold my kid to the ceiling...ROFL!!!! Anyway, thanks for checking out my blog!

Well...here's MY Tower of Power (thanks Jody!!!). I got this from texasjodylynn (SCS). Check out her awesome blog!! Yeah! She's gotta WHOLE lot more than I do but...I'll get there eventually...BWAHAHAHA! Next thing to work on is my punch storage. Right now I'm just using one of those plastic shoe racks from WM. There's plenty more punches I will be purchasing in the future and I don't have room for a metal rack or anything so...I'll be brainstorming for ideas when the time comes. Hmmmmm...may I should just stop buying and use up everything I have then get all new schtuff! NAH!!! Shopping's too much fun! ;) Anyway, I have always been so AR about keeping my sets together. Well, after following Jody's advice, I took the plunge! Let tell ya! It was sooo very liberating!!! See those 12x12 3 drawer bins in the middle and on the right? There's 11 of them total. The very top on in the middle hold my wheels and misc stamp stuff like extra scrubby pads and ez mount. The other 10 are holding the rest of my stamps. The most amazing thing!?!? I have 109 complete SU! stamp sets in those. I also have all my wood mounted single stamps like House Mouse, Amuse, etc.... Nope! Don't even ask how many total 'cuz I'm not countin' 'em!!!! lol

This is the wall opposite of my work space. As you can tell...I still have to find room for a few things...lol! See those photo boxes on the floor? 3 of those are full of images from image swaps and PIF's! I think I'm actually suppose to be using them, not hoarding them ;) The filing cabinet is storing my CS (only 2 drawers so don't pass out on me! lol). I have GOT to find a better way. I want that thing outta there! I would love any suggestions you may have.

I got tired of looking at my cramped space soooo I'm in the process of redoing my playroom...lol! I bought these little 5 drawer totes at WM for like 6.00 a piece. They work awesome for storing all my coloring stuff. I will, however, have to add more once I start purchasing more copics. I had to get rid of the laptop (I can't stand them) soooo, hubby brought home a new flat panel monitor! YAY!!!!! Hmmm...I'm thinking now...maybe I should move my ink rack over there *insert eye roll*. We moved DS into the bigger room so I moved all my things to the smallest room. Man! I didn't realize I had so much crap! ROFL!!!!

I wanted to make something totally different. I was browsing the SCS gallery and came across some billfolds. I found one that had the dimensions/directions so I went to Lorri Heiling's blog and proceeded with my project. I decided to change the inside a little...mostly because I messed up so this is how I fixed my boo boo...LOL!!! The sentiment is from the SU! For Father (ret) set. The sentiment on the tab is from the SU! More Great Greetings set (ret). I completed the wallet then added the sponging and stitching. I sponged the edges with SU! Sahara Sand classic ink. I wanted to give it a little bit of a worn look.

A New Wallet For Hubby (outside)

I made this wallet out of Gray Leather from the Paper Temptress. First, let me tell you about this cardstock!!!! It's LEATHER!!! This stuff is DA BOMB!!! So nice and smooth but with great detail. It's also veeeeery nice to stamp on. This also doesn't distort your image. I got the dimensions from here. Thank you to Lorri Heiling for the directions on her blog! The stitching was done by hand using DMC floss. I used SU! Classic Pickups (retired) for my image.

Purse For A Friend

This is another little goodie I have been wanting to try! I can definitely see more of these little babies in my future...LOL!!! I used the SU! 5-in-1 envelope template to make this. I cut my cardstock into a regular A2 size card. I laid the template onto my cardstock. I then traced, cut and scored as directed. Once my purse was cut out and scored accordingly I used my SU! So Swirly wheel with Pretty In Pink ink and rolled it across the bottom flap on the backside so it would be in the front when finished. Once I got my wheel rolled and my purse together I used a foam square to attach my circle and placed it just enough on the edge to also close the purse. I added my 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon to the back for my handle and attached KaiserCraft Rose colored pearls to the flap for an extra added touch. I used the Paper Temptress Cotton Candy Pop Tones cardstock. Verrry nice shade of color! To me it looks like a peachish (is that even a word???) pink color. Beautiful!!!!!! I have been so impressed by the Paper Temptress cardstock. There is wide range of colors that you just can't go wrong. There's the perfect shade for any occasion!!!!

Handmade Wedding Present

This ain't no ordinary wedding present...LOL!!!! This was actually very simple to make. The card base in the paper Temptress Retro Black Glossy cardstock. Looove the design! This picture doesn't do it any justice!!! You can see a small part of the design at the very top of the card. It is veeeeeeery smooth! To get a better pic of the black the silver would have been so shiny it would've been blindingly bright. I used the Paper Temptress Vintage Silver Lustre cardstock for the 'ribbon' and bow. To make the bow I just cut strips of the Vintage Silver Lustre cardstock and used mini glue dots to stick them together where the fold meets and to the next layer. I stamped the sentiment after I had my ribbon and bow on my present. This card could be used to hold a great surprise inside such as money or a gift card to the receiver's favorite restaurant, hotel, department store, etc....

A Father's Day Train

I love this image so I finally got a chance to get it dirty...LOL!!! I used the Paper Temptress Pearl Vellum. I love the sheen!!!! This picture does NOT do it justice at ALL! Very smooth and YUMMY stuff!!!! I stamped my image and sentiment using Stone Gray Staz On ink directly on the vellum and let dry. This vellum takes ink very well. I used mini glue dots in the corners to adhere it to my card base. The card base on the card is made with the Paper Temptress Retro Black Glossy Lustre cardstock. I used gray dew drops on the corners to add that extra touch to my card.

so I thought I'd get a start on my cards for this year. My Grandmother's favorite color is purple. I just happen to have some Violet Vellum from the Paper Temptress that I still haven't tried yet. It was karma I tell ya! LOL!!! Anyway, I wanted something simple enough to show off the vellum without distracting from it. This is another shade of purple I'm very happy with. The vellum itself it VERRRY niiiiice!!!!! It doesn't tear, shred or anything else when you dry emboss it. I cut a piece of the Violet Vellum to card front size. I used this sentiment from SU! All Year Cheer II set (now retired) in black stazon ink and stamped directly onto the cardstock. I used my Stylized Flowers embossing folder and zipped it through my bug. I ran my dotto adhesive all the way around the vellum and attached it to the white base. Then I took my KaiserCraft Pearl pearls and put one on each corner of my vellum. Voila! Finished!

Flowery Tote Bag

I have been really wanting to try one of these. I see lots of them posted in Split Coast Stampers galleries and on blogs. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. It is very simple to make. You can find a tutorial for this tote

Instead of using patterned paper on my tote I decided to use a flower stamp from the SU! set In Full Bloom (now retired). I stamped my flower randomly over the entire piece of cardstock with SU! Elegant Eggplant ink before I did any cutting or scoring. I used the Paper Temptress Grape Jelly Pop Tones for the tote. This is a really beautiful shade of purple!!!! Love it!!! There are a few colors that I am VERY picky about the shade and purple is definitely one of them! hehehehe It is also just the right thickness for altering projects or making totes, purses, etc... It isn't hard to crease, score or anything yet sturdy enough to hold cards in. Once I had my tote put together I used black 3/8" grosgrain ribbon for my handles. You can also use cardstock or ribbon going from front to back depending on how you want the finished product to look.

Butterflies For A Freind

I absolutely loooove this color!!!!! This Paper Temptress Rose Vellum. This was actually my first time using vellum. I have to say....I'm very impressed. Especially with the quality. I ran a card front size piece of vellum through my cuttlebug with the textile embossing folder. It came out very crisp and very sturdy! Then I used the Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch for all the butterflies and set them aside. I took the sentiment (SU! All Holidays) and flipped it rubber side up. I took my Orchid Brilliance Dew Drop ink and dabbed it onto the stamp. This method makes the ink last longer since there is less chance of over inking. I used pop dots to adhere my butterflies to the card then added KaiserCraft Snow Pearls to their backs.

Mardi Gras Mini Book

I was just having a little fun with my Bind It All and some more Paper Temptress cardstock. I wanted something a little bright and funky. Those that know me KNOW this is way out of my comfort zone...lol!!! Anyway, it being Mardi Gras time around where I live I couldn't think of a better way to showcase this cardstock. I used the Golden Glow Metallic cardstock. I took two 4x4 chipboard coasters and traced them onto the cardstock and trimmed them to size. I then took my typeset uppercase alpha to make the letters in elegant eggplant ink. The ink doesn't show up real clear in my pic...it looks black for some reason. I'm still learning this new camera...lol! So after those were completed I set them aside to dry. I took some regular index cards and trimmed them to size. I used the side with the lines to make it easier to write notes on. You can use how ever many you like but make sure your wires are large enough to accomodate them. After the ink was dry, I used my BIA to punch the holes into the coasters and the inside pages. I inserted my coil and closed it. I didn't have the brighter ribbon colors so I had to improvise...lol! I then added some elegant eggplant and some hunter green ribbon to the wires and the clear rhinestones to the corners. My project is now complete. This can go in your purse (how many of us need to jot something down and can never seem to find paper when we need it???LOL!!!) or given as a gift.

Golden Anniversary Gift

I wanted to make something really simple that can be given for a 50th Anniversary gift. This was really easy to make. I found a pkg of chipboard postcards at my LSS. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them but I knew I wanted to make something. I traced 2 postcards onto the Paper Temptress Retro Gold Glossy Lustre cardstock and trimmed them to size. I punched 2 holes in one end about 1/4" inch from the edge to make the top on each one. I used the negative part of a chipboard heart, covering it in gold ink. I also took 10 sheets of cream colored cardstock, cut them to size for the inside pages and punched the holes the same as the postcards. I cut some 1/4" cream (ivory or vanilla will work) colored grosgrain ribbon, threaded it through the postcards and pages, added some cream colored bridal flowers from Michael's and voila! finished. It didn't take very long to make. The longest part was waiting for the gold ink to dry on the negative chipboard piece.

HOT FUDGE!!!! Ohhhhhhhh....I soooooo looove this Hot Fudge Pop Tones cardstock!!!! I love this Berrylicious Pop Tones too...they have such a smooth feel to them! I used Hot Fudge Pop Tones cardstock for my base. I used the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder on it. This stuff embossed like buttah!!!! It has nice, deep embossing. I have tried a few different brands of cardstock and this has, by far, embossed the best for me. For the matting I used the Berrylicious Pop Tones cardstock.....very niiiiice!! I am partial to blues and this is a wonderful shade. When I saw them I just KNEW they had to be used together on a card! Every piece of cardstock I have used (I still have more to show over the next couple of weeks so don't fret!) from the Paper Temptress has been deeeelish!!!

Ok...I know it's way early for a Father's Day card...LOL! I hadn't sponged anything in a while so I thought I'd just get my stuff out and start playing. My original idea was to just make a masculine card. Once I got the image finished...I realized this would go perfectly with this Paper Temptress cardstock! I used the Blue Rasberry Pop Tones cardstock for the base and matted my image on Hot Fudge Pop Tones. The Pop Tones line is just as yummy as all the others I've tried so far!!! The picture just doesn't do justice for thei stuff! Ya gotta see in in perons...feeeel it!!! hehehe Well...once I got the card finished there was just too much open space for my taste...lol! I had to add a senitment so I thought..what about just making a Father's Day card. It never hurts to have a card made up a little early right? I'm usually cutting it to the wire when I make any type of holiday card *insert eye roll here*.

Here's another card with the Felt Grandee line. This is the Teal color. YUUUUMMY stuff!!!! The ink just blends right onto the cardstock. I have tried stamping on textured cardstock....don't like it. It just seems to distort the ink (kind of like little missing spots or something). Not with this stuff...it is awesome!!!!

This is my first scenery card. Lemme tell ya! It was a blast to make but I may wait a while before I do make another....LOL!!!! The water puddle is painted with December Sky Shimmerz and her boots are painted with Pink Shimmerz. I was gonna use stickles on the rain drops but I forgot until after I took the pic....lol!! I loooove this Felt Grandee line!!! I'm not too sure how well it shows up in this pic (still learning...lol!!) but the texture is totally awesome!!!! It doesn't distort your image when you stamp on it like some I've tried. The card base is made with White Felt Grandee. The moon was paper pieced with the White Diamond (told ya I love this stuf!!!). The baby, blanket and heart are on foam mounting squares or pop dots. Thanks for looking!

White Diamond Birthday Card

Remember me telling you about the The Paper Temptress White Diamond Card Stock? Well....here it is! If you look very closely...you will see that the ink takes on the sparkle from the card stock instead of covering it up. OH! One more thing....the ink color that I used was lighter than what I wanted. So......I colored over my image with copics. Guess what!? It didn't bleed through the card stock or the outline of my image. Copics are alcohol based ink markers and most card stocks aren't thick enough to keep the ink from bleeding through. This is! This card stock is the BOMB!!!! I did a side by side comparison of Stampin Up! Shimmery White card stock and The Paper Temptress White Diamond card stock. I'll have to get a pic of that and upload it later today or tomorrow.
